The way that programmers read resumes can be your and my standard way to go. Yes, it is similar to my previous standards mentioned by ‘How to become a hacker’ or ‘Hacker and Painter.’ The understanding of Operating System and Robotics is crucial
The necessary skills for me is to learn latex for my documentation (I am MS Office guy, not even Open Office favorit) and ‘Google or Microsoft Internship.’ It is time to make me on the right track of the programmer’s market! You can see the details of its talk here.

When surfing to find how traceroute programs work, I found the author, Van Jacobson. He is awesome researcher and really active until today. In addition, he presented a new way to boost up our network speed (he pointed out that the implementation of first berkely’s attempt is not appropriate today’s multicores environment). He gave it a name, Channel. You can see the slides here. Not only that I also gave a google talk, “A New Way to look at Networking.” I will review it later on.

I read it because it is on the 17th Jolt Awarded bookshelf. My every year’s goal is to cover them as many as possible. Thus, I selected to read this book even though I am very familiar with GoF style book and related design pattern books such as POSA. However, it is a great introductory book for beginners. And I was also able to think about design patterns again while reading it. Great!

At April Fool’s Day, I saw PC modem communication service screen at Paran website. It is similar to the screen when I was 13 or something. We called it ‘PC 통신.’ Most of students majoring computer science are really familiar with this service, almost old memories. I also love this communication service, called BBS or telnet. However, at that time, it is too exorbitant to use frequently. Frankly, most of guys felt necessity of super fast connection at the purpose of downloading ‘Adult games’
It was younger’s hopes. I think that it can be a possible reason the internet speed become steadily faster and faster.

I read the review paper of cloud computing entitled ‘Above the Clouds: A Berkeley View of Cloud Computing.’ However there is also nice introduction video about Cloud Computing. It is not brand new idea but it is nice business model of the future. In addition many big IT companies such as Google, MS, IBM, and Amazon are doing some research on Cloud Computer. There are pros and cons.
* On demand computing resources
* Paying only that I utilize the resources (pay-as-you-go)
* Utilizing common resources at maximum
* New SaaS model
But, in technical point of views there are some ambiguous concepts.
* How to measure demanded computing power of each user online?
* How to apply them to existing softwares (user must not redesign the architecture) ?
* How much Cloud dependent (IT companies must not depend on the giant) ?
* Naturally revealing privacy to the giant (not utter freedom)
The economics of Cloud Computing Infrastructure has to be analyzed more thoroughly. Is any other Korean IT company to work in Could Computing? I better googling now.

It was my first visit to the U.S.. With dreams that I had as a freshmen, I finally went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). I had dreamed this whenever I felt into sleep. Sometime after getting graduate admissions of schools in the U.S., I often thought that I had completed everything. However, please remember, this is new start, even starting from the bottom. There are no students who know me well and there are no professors who often applause me at MIT. This is absolutely new start. However, this is a new chance (I’d like to refer to it as ‘new transition’) to be brand new Taesoo. Even if I am lack of thorough technical skills and logical thinking skills, I will become new Taesoo as I am dreaming as a scientist. The computer scientist, I love this jargon, is the scholar that I have to be. I saw many young computer genius in my generation in MIT CSAIL Open House. Please think all the time I’ am here as a representative of Korean and KAIST students. I will introduce to you about CSAIL later on

I am on the position to choose my graduate school from Top ranked CS schools from MIT, Berkeley, CMU, Cornell. I already denied couple of suggestions from other universities. However it is definitely happy period! Thanks to God.
Frankly, I was always worrying about being rejected by all schools that I applied. However, the blue pill tells me that I got multiple admissions from prospectus universities. I always thank to KAIST, my undergraduate school and Daegu Science High School that toughly taught me all the time
It is the period to think of my life, again.
For me, for Korea, for the whole world and you!
Thanks.
p.s. The thing is that it will be my first visit to U.S!

While I was working with GUI software (50 thousands lines of codes), I terribly feel that I need a unit testing framework especially for GUI! It means even though I am already working with C++ Unit like testing framework, but still feel necessary to test GUI focusing on user interfaces. When it comes to test-driven design and architecture, people said GUI can be designed to be tested automatically. However for me, at least, testing functionalities of GUI itself, such as flowing of event from parent windows to children and even to children’s children, is overwhelmingly burden. Writing codes, Compiling, Running and Testing are long and time consuming processing compared to completely designing software itself.
Thus, I read this book focusing on the GUI testing, again. However, the answer is not much clear and I still need to find any kinds of sources GUI testing framework or design.

Think about your codes, again. The author said that we must do prefactoring before refactoring that is well known techniques for programmers. Yes, the book is definite guide to improve and sharpen our codes and reduce time to do refactoring. However, it is impractical to me. I think that reading well written source codes means a lot to most students including me, instead of reading this book. How about reading python or emacs source codes, today?
